Significant Risk of Severe Storms - Sunday 2/27/11

This is an update to the previous post regarding the severe weather risk today:

The moderate risk box posted by the Storm Prediction Center has shifted further southeast, so the risk to the SW MO area has gone down some, however, severe storms are still expected to occur this afternoon and tonight.

The National Weather Service in Springfield, MO expects the following risk levels:

Tornado: Elevated
Large Hail: Elevated
Thunderstorm Winds: Significant
Lightning: Significant
